The Fashionable Women of Chapman’s 21st Annual Christmas at The Ritz fundraiser once again drew a sold-out crowd to The Ritz Restaurant & Garden in Newport Beach and netted a record $172,330 for Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. Thanks to Zee Allred leading the way as Grand Patron and honorary chairs Dorothy and Don Kennedy, Kim and Molly Smith and Heidi Durant, representing her late mother Trudy Durant, the proceeds helped the group reach its $1 million goal to Dodge College. Dodge College Dean Bob Bassett and Christmas at The Ritz Chairman Adrienne Brennan were all smiles as guests welcomed the holiday season in grand style at the beautifully decorated restaurant. A scrumptious three-course repast and over 20 over-the-top opportunity prizes were part of the festive occasion. Winners of the top prizes included Eve Kornyei, who won first-class airfare for two to Hawaii and a stay at the Wyland Waikiki Resort along with a signed Wyland lithograph, and Jeanne Moriarty, who won the gorgeous sapphire and diamond necklace from Traditional Jewelers at Fashion Island. Throughout lunch, Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island presented a sensational fashion and jewelry show of men’s and women’s fashions and gave the parting gift to each guest – a Jay Strongwater jeweled and enameled picture frame, a bottle of Spellbound Cabernet Sauvignon and a sample of 29 cosmetics from Rob and Lydia Mondavi, respectively. All in all, it was a heartwarming hello to the holidays.
