A Stella Welcome

Stella McCartney received a rock star welcome at an invitation-only cocktail party hosted by Neiman Marcus at its Fashion Island store in early May. A fabulous British pub was created on the store’s second level for the 260 guests to meet the famous English fashion designer. Models walked on cork wood floors around a pool table, dart board and foosball (table football) game to preview her pre-fall and fall fashions as guests sipped the evening’s signature cocktail, “Stella’s Pim’s Cup.” The engaging designer signed autographs and posed for photos before I got a chance to ask her what she viewed as the most rewarding part of her job. “I’m very much of the belief that I work for my clients,” she said. “I listen to them, and, consequently, I think I have something for everyone in my collection.” And the pub? “I had a baby four months ago, so this is the only time I’ve been in a pub,” she laughed. –Text By Donna Bunce and Photos By Ann Chatillon

Wardrobe picked a Stella McCartney suit for me to wear on set at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
