Champagne and Wine and Daiquiris, Oh My

Flight Bistro & Social Lounge in Huntington Beach (714-374-8300) serves a classic Champagne Brunch every Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $25 per person. Included is a starter, one main course and unlimited house-selected “bubbly.” Deeper pockets may go for the Premium Champagne Brunch, $115 per person, that also includes a starter and a main course, but the Champagne choice is either Veuve Cliquot, or Moet & Chandon White Star. An a la carte menu is also available.

Hollywood’s famous C.C. Brown’s ice cream and sweet shop may be long gone, but the restaurant’s signature hot fudge sauce lives on, and can be purchased at the Five Crowns Restaurant in Corona del Mar (949-760-0331), or www.lawrysonline.com, for $7 per 10-ounce jar.

On Monday through Friday, hush in Laguna Beach (949-497-3616) has a Chef’s Limited Winter Menu from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for $45 per person. Choose from three starters, four delicious entrees, and two desserts.

At Avanti Café in Costa Mesa (949-548-2224), Tuesdays feature World Cuisine prepared by chefs, Veronica and Bartosz. The pair will present the food of Venezuela on March 4; Lebanon, March 11; Mexican, March 18; and Poland on March 25. Lunch from 11 a.m., $9.50; dinner, from 5 p.m., $11.50. TAPS Fish House & Brewery in Brea (949-257-0101) will continue its special Fat Tuesday evening every Tuesday through March 18 beginning at 5 p.m. Hurricane drinks and daiquiris are available in the bar/lounge. Jambalaya, spicy gumbo, shucked oysters, alligator bites, Creole barbecue shrimp and Cajun chicken spring rolls are priced at $5 each. Live blues and jazz music begins at 6:30 p.m.

Roy’s in Fashion Island (949-640-7697) will serve a sit-down, three-course Easter brunch on March 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults, $30 per person. Children ("keikus"), have their own special menu at $20 per.

A five-course winemaker dinner, featuring the wines of Spring Mountain, will be held on March 27, 6 p.m., at Mortons The Steakhouse, Santa Ana (714-444-4834). Along with the appropriate wine paired with each signature course, a special Spring Mountain Elivette 2003 will be poured. Cost, $175 per person.

The classic varietals of the Rhone Valley will be sampled March 8, 2:30 p.m. at Sage On the Coast Crystal Cove (949-715-7243.) Appetizers will be served with the wines. Cost, $30 per person.

On March 2, 7:30 p.m., Tannin’s Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano (949-661-8466) will host “Total Concept,“ a complimentary hair and fashion show presented by the partners of the Daniel Michael Salon.
