Gourmet Fundraising Benefits Diabetes Research

Greer’s OC celebrated its one year anniversary at an event hosted by hush Restaurant owner Chuck Rock and partner Danny Reyes, benefiting the Orange County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. About 350 guests were treated to Flat Iron steak on crostinis; prosciutto and roasted tomato rounds; and smoked salmon on potato-shallot cakes prepared by hush executive chef Ashley Ewart. Themed cocktails such as the “hushtini” made with Ciroc Vodka and the “Greer’s Kiss” made with Godiva Liqueur were concocted with top-shelf spirits from event sponsors. The event raised $5,000 through an opportunity drawing featuring a necklace from Black, Starr & Frost, original artwork by Assif Assefi and a four-hour cooking class for four people with certified executive chef Gregg Denter of Culinary Coach. --By Starr Buck
