n Saturday, July 19, Five Crowns (949-760-0331) will hold a Beatrix Potter-themed Tea in its garden. Planned especially for mothers and daughters, the event will feature a classic English Tea Menu, along with Champagne for adults. Youngsters will receive a Beatrix Potter book. Cost, $55 per person, all-inclusive. On July 22, 7 p.m., Five Crowns executive chef Dennis Brask will prepare a special dinner to be paired with the exemplary wines of Ferrari Carano Vineyards and Winery. Winemaker Aaron Piotter will be the guest speaker. Cost $110 per person, all inclusive. Wine tastings are held Thursdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bayside (949-721-1222). Small plates available for $5.95.
Kimera (949-261-1222) holds world-class beer tastings on Wednesdays for $14.
On July 24 at 7 p.m. a winemaker dinner at The Ritz-Carlton (949-240-2000) will highlight Cuvaison wines with winemaker Steve Rogstad. The cost ($200 per person) includes one signed bottle of wine from the winemaker.
Celebrating its 30th year, Morton’s the Steakhouse in Santa Ana (714-444-4834) and Anaheim (714-621-0101) will serve a “19.78 Million Dollar Make-A-Wish Prime Sirloin Burger” every Sunday night in July, August and September. A portion of the burger sales will benefit The Foundation.
From July through August 3, South Coast Plaza restaurants will celebrate summer with prix-fixe menus of four courses for $40 nightly. Call 714-435-2000, or visit www.southcoastplaza.com for a list of participating restaurants.
Jimmy Hopper has returned to The Island Hotel Palm Terrace Lounge (949-759-0808) Wednesday through Saturday.
French 75 Bistro in Irvine has been renamed Wilhelm’s Chophouse (714-573-7600), and now offers contemporary American cuisine such as ribs, steaks, comfort foods and Southwestern dishes. Happy hour in the Bohemian Red Bar Monday through Friday with $5 appetizers.
Tommy Bahama in Newport Beach (949-760-8686) has changed its name to The Island-Coastal Cuisine by Tommy Bahama.
TV Food Network star Michael Chiarello has opened his latest NapaStyle store at South Coast Plaza on Level 2 in the Macy’s Home Wing.
