Jewel Talk

Respected jewelry historian, author and lecturer Amanda Triossi gave an informative, entertaining presentation in late February on “Glamour, Gems and Fashion: a Survey of 20th Century Jewelry Design” for 100 members and guests of The Fashionable Women of Chapman at The Center Club in Costa Mesa. Triossi’s appearance was made possible by FWC member Mona Nesseth, a Laguna Beach custom and estate private jeweler, who also provided jewelry representing the different 20th Century eras for various FWC board members to wear. The mesmerized crowd gave Triossi, who is based in Rome where she is curator of Bulgari’s Vintage Collection, a standing ovation. Triossi is also curator for the Bulgari retrospective exhibition, due to open in Rome in May, 2009, in celebration of Bulgari’s 125th anniversary. --By Donna Bunce
