Six new trips from high-end adventure travel company Abercrombie & Kent are going to give travelers the chance to enjoy some luxury while really experiencing the frozen beauty of the northern and southern polar regions.

Beginning in July and August 2014, voyages will carry curious explorers to Norway, Greenland and Iceland. The Arctic is the land of the midnight sun, polar bears and where some of the most respected whale research is being done.

In December 2014 and January 2015, head for summer in the Southern Hemisphere with trips to Antarctica, South Georgia Island and the Falkland Islands. The planet’s most pristine environments exist down south with unique bird and marine species as well as the scientific work at U.S. Palmer Research Station.

All the polar trips are aboard the Le Boreal, one of the newest, environmentally friendly and most technically advanced ships sailing to the cooler latitudes. The ship offers the chance to keep the guide-to-guest ratio small, while also providing access to top scientists, photographers and historians.
