Cost of the proposed Newport Beach City Hall seems to be increasing with additions such as a walkway, which would span over San Miguel Drive to connect the city hall gardens to a garden across the street and a children’s garden.

Moreover, the entire city hall site may have to be lowered to protect views of homeowners across MacArthur Boulevard. The new cost might reach $100 million.

Construction of the city hall is currently scheduled to begin in 2010, with move-in beginning in 2012.
