More than $225,000 was raised at a gala celebrating the 10th anniversary of Caterina’s Club, the nonprofit founded by chef/restaurateur Bruno Serato in honor of his mother.
Since its inception, the program has served up more than 1 million pasta dinners for hungry “motel” children, so named because their working-class parents are relegated to living in motels. More than 300 guests, dining on a three-course dinner prepared by White House Catering, attended the formal affair held at the Nixon library in Yorba Linda. Among the VIPs were KFI’s Bill Handel, Emmy-winning actress Doris Roberts and internationally known vocalists Maria Elena Infantino and Elisabetta Russo. Veteran TV news personality Ed Arnold emceed the event.
“Wow!  What an exciting night it was,” Serato said. “There was so much love in the room and so much support for everyone involved.”
