The county’s top style-makers gathered at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts for Harvesters 23rd annual Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon, raising $675,000 for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
The fashionable flock of more than 400 guests, including event chairs Melissa Knode and Susan Croul, were greeted with a Champagne reception presented by Jaeger-LeCoultre in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and a top-drawer designer auction underwritten by South Coast Plaza.
“Harvesters’ efforts help lead the way for those served by Second Harvest to a future without the debilitation of being hungry,” said Knode. “We’ve tapped into a success model of fashion shows and intimate shopping experiences.”
A runway show to rival New York’s Fashion Week followed, which featured highlights from the collections of luxury brands such as Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de la Renta, Barbara Bui, Fendi, Lanvin, Marni, Max Mara, Moncler, Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino and Versace.
After the show, it was time for a lavish luncheon with a fall salad, burrata agnolotti with pan-roasted chicken, and lemon meringue or chocolate cake rochers for dessert. The event concluded with an after-party at Center Club. Proceeds from this event enabled Second Harvest to provide 1.6 million meals to the needy.
