If you’re looking for a reason to drink dozens of plastic cups of beer without playing a single round of beer pong, then you can’t miss the Orange County Brew Ha Ha. This craft beer festival at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine will feature more than 100 beers from local OC breweries like Laguna Niguel’s O’Shea Brewing Co., Fullerton’s Bootlegger's Brewery and Irvine’s Bayhawk Ales with non-local favorites like Sam Adams and Widmer Brothers also slinging suds.
And since the event takes place on September 11, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund, a nonprofit helping the families of fallen OC firefighters. The $35 admission fee ($10 for designated drivers) includes a commemorative beer glass and 10 4 oz. beer samplings. Additional samplings are available for purchase for $3-$5.
You can also opt for the VIP package, normally $45, but for Coast readers that enter coastbrew as a discount code when purchasing tickets at ocbrewfest.com, you will get two extra samples, VIP parking and one hour early entry for $35. Plus, the first 500 VIPs will also have the opportunity to attend four beer seminars lead by local, fully certified Cicerones, covering everything from the sensory analysis of beer to the secrets of beer and food pairing.
VIP Gold packages are also available at $60 and include admission to the brewer and firefighter after-party in addition to what's included in the basic VIP package.
You'll also find beer-complementing grub for sale, music from Jack FM and free water and soda, so drop the red plastic cups and step away from the beer pong table.
