Award-winning local photographer, world traveler and teacher Ralph Velasco leads a trip to Cuba as part of the U.S. Treasury Department-approved People to People program. The nine-day trip (February 23-March 3) is organized through Strabo Tours.

Flying from Miami, the trip will include visits to four different UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Old Havana, the tobacco region known as the Vinales Valley, the colonial town of Cienfuegos, and the Valley of the Sugar Mills. The trip also includes El Morro Fortress, Hotel Nacional, Ernest Hemingway’s house, and Cojimar.

Each day, a local English-speaking guide will help facilitate exchanges with everyday Cubans, while Velasco will help participants get the best photos and transportation will be by private, air-conditioned buses to each location.

Prices begin at $4,595 and include airfare between Miami and Havana, Cuban visa and medical insurance, but participants are required to pay their own way to Miami. The program is open to people at least 21 years old and photographers of all skill levels and even non-photographers. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
