On Saturday, June 23, Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are hosting a fun-filled family event for two-legged and four-legged friends – the 18th Annual DAWG Walk & Pet Faire.

The DAWG Walk is a perfect activity for you and your favorite canine. Hiking through two miles of Oso Creek Trail, the first half will get you warmed up with a flat, shaded, paved trail; while the second half challenges participants with some hills.

The Pet, Wildlife and Dog Adoption Faire is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is free to the public. This event includes an impressive display of pet contests, pet and wildlife exhibits and fun booths and raffle prizes. Most importantly, there’s an opportunity to meet many loveable dogs from Mission Viejo Animal Shelter and dog rescue groups and help them find a home.

All DAWG Walkers (both those who registered in advance and on the day of) are asked to turn in pledge money on the day of the event. If participants collect and turn in $25, they will receive a cotton twill adorable “Don’t Forget the Dog Food” grocery tote. For participants that turn in $75, they will receive a grocery tote and Outward Hound Travel Water Bottle. And for the individual that collects the most pledge money, that person receives $500.

Advanced registration is now closed, but you can register at the event for $30 per person. The DAWG Walk entry fee includes the DAWG Walk on Oso Creek Trail and an event T-shirt.
