The Van’s U.S. Open of Surfing ran July 25-Aug. 2 in Surf City, USA – also known as Huntington Beach – to the delight of hundreds of thousands of beach-going surf fans and millions watching the live feeds.

Despite a lack of big waves, the event – this year it was a “Tati and Toledo” show – still thrilled: Tatiana Weston-Webb (USA) won her first WSL title and Felipe Toledo (Brazil) won his second title in three years by ripping through their competitors.

Sugar, the only canine licensed to surf the pier, delighted dog lovers. The Duct Tape Invitational allowed classic longboarders to strut their stuff and, of course, hang ten. The event also featured something for the landlubbers, with world-class BMX and skateboarding competitions.
