Green Scene Plant & Garden Show 2014
When: April 12-13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Fullerton Arboretum, 1900 Associated Rd., Fullerton
For just one weekend, the Fullerton Arboretum will be the home of the Green Scene Plant & Garden Show, featuring over 80 specialty garden vendors and Discovery Sessions lead by prominent speakers in the farm, food and garden community. Guests are invited to browse through vendor booths offering unique plants and handcrafted garden art and pottery. Arboretum-inspired watercolor paintings by Cal State Fullerton students will also be showcased at an art exhibit in the show. The show will be open to the public for $8 per person, or $6 per person for Arboretum members or Titan Card holders. Proceeds from the event will go toward providing new plant collections and garden maintenance for the Fullerton Arboretum, and educational programs for local elementary schools and the community. :: fullertonarboretum.org

25th Annual Spring Garden Show
When: April 24-27
Where: South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa
To celebrate Earth Day, get inspired by the beauty of greenery at the Spring Garden Show hosted by South Coast Plaza. Reflecting the theme of Celebrating the Gardens of Southern California, the plaza’s Crate & Barrel/Macy’s Home Store wing will host a spectacular centerpiece designed by Fiesta Floats, over 85 specialty garden vendors, garden displays designed by landscaping designers, and seminars and book signings by nationally-recognized garden professionals. Interior designer, architect and HGTV’s “Curb Appeal” co-host John Gidding will launch the show by giving a presentation on his favorite design projects and the production of the television show “Curb Appeal,” on Thursday, April 24 at 10 a.m. :: springgardenshow.com

Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration
When: April 26, 8 a.m.-noon
The city of Mission Viejo is celebrating both Earth Day and Arbor Day with two special events on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Guests are invited to join the city in a volunteering event to plan new landscaping on Avery Parkway, east of Marguerite Parkway. Just up the road on Las Ondas Drive, the city will be throwing a Green Expo and give away free hot dogs and ice cream while supplies last. :: cityofmissionviejo.org/green

Earth Day Celebration
When: April 26-27, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach
In honor of Earth Day, stop by the Aquarium of the Pacific over the weekend for special booths and demonstrations. The center will be featuring booths from various Earth-friendly organizations and give live, hands-on demonstrations for people of all ages. Drop by with the entire family to learn a few simple tips to protect our environment and visit the friendly creatures that call this aquarium home. Party for the Planet
When: May 10, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Santa Ana Zoo, 1801 E. Chestnut Ave., Santa Ana
The Santa Ana Zoo is celebrating Earth Day. For one day only, the zoo will be featuring booths promoting conservation, along with music and free craft activities. The event is free to attend with price of admission, which ranges from $4 to $10 per person. :: santaanazoo.org
