An exclusive group of OC fashionistas and -istos flocked to South Coast Plaza for the unveiling of its newest retail addition, COS. The night before the London-based store opened its doors to the public, guests enjoyed an evening of shopping to support the Orange County Museum of Modern Art, which received twenty-percent of the evening’s proceeds. They were welcomed into the all-white space by racks of newly hung garments, cocktails, and music spun by DJ Ivy who kept the British vibe going with some remixed Adele. Guests under the age of 8 also shopped for modern, fall essentials in the kidswear section of the store.

Located on the second level next to Bloomingdales, COS is in distinctive retail company at the Plaza. “We offer a high-end design concept using great quality fabrics at an affordable price point,” Atul Pathak, COS director of communications, said. The brand strives to create timeless garments that are wearable beyond any season. With apparel and accessories heavily inspired by the arts, Pathak said COS happily seized the opportunity to benefit the Orange County Museum of Modern Art.

The guest list, put together by event co-chairs Zack Bates, Marianne Litvak, Michelle Oblath, and Tracy Schroeder, included Anton and Jennifer Segerstrom, South Coast Plaza’s Executive Director of Marketing, Debra Gunn Downing, and OCMA’s CEO, Todd DeShields Smith. “The brand is very much in line with the museum’s brand in terms of its artfully designed clothing,” Smith noted.
