There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but you can see a free movie. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents another season of Free Movie Mondays with films showing outdoors in the Arts Plaza.

This local favorite summer tradition kicks off July 9 with a screening of Billy Elliot. Movies begin at dusk, but bring beach chairs and picnic dinners a bit earlier to enjoy pre-screen trivia contests, dance competitions and more for the chance to win prizes like DVDs and tickets to shows. You’ll also want to catch the best animated films from this year's Newport Beach Film Festival shown before the film.

The season continues on July 16 with Gene Kelly classic An American in Paris, featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin. Tim Burton’s masterpiece The Nightmare Before Christmas screens July 23 and Barbra Streisand’s Yentl on July 30. The season closes on August 6 with The Music Man.
