Gentle on the Face

I have to admit, I'm usually not a facial person. Between the extractions, any of a number of popular facial acids and the skin scrutiny under rather harsh lighting, I always end up in some kind of pain - whether physical or emotional.  

So when I signed up for the Spa Gregorie's Newport Beach Gemstone Facial (30 minutes for $65), despite assurances that there would be no acids or extractions, I had my usual bout of facial anxiety. But it turned out I had nothing to worry about.

Using effective yet gentle Epicuren products and chilled rose quartz gemstones (for a light massage), the facial relaxes and soothes without any kind of pain whatsover.

The facial begins with cleansing and toning to balance and hydrate, followed by an apricot scrub. The rose quartz massage, using a coconut and hibiscus oil, is done in specific patterns to help rejuvenate the skin. The facial ends with a coconut and hibiscus mask and moisturizer. For $10 more, you can add on the aroma full-body steam (performed in a Vichy shower "machine" that looks like a roomier version of a tanning booth and is capable of emitting steam).
