Sometimes I just get bored. It’s one of the reasons I so enjoy experimenting with makeup. When I’m feeling blue, I try purple. When I’m feeling peppy, I go for pink. But when it comes to my hair, I’m not as willing to experiment. I generally keep my curly hair on the longer side and except for a period of time when I lived as a blonde, my hair remains in its natural state of dark brown. I like my hair.
But, back to my earlier point, I do get bored. So, when the opportunity knocks to do something a little different, I try not to let it pass. When Tustin’s Nova Vita Salon & Spa announced expanding salon services to offer ENVY Hair Bling, my interest was certainly piqued. The notion of setting anything from feathers and tinsel to Swarovski crystals into your hair for some extra dazzle – an idea popularized by Beyonce at the 2010 Grammy Awards – is oddly appealing.
According to Nova Vita Salon, all of their extensions (including feathers, tinsel and crystals) can be washed and blow-dried, and can last up to six weeks. The bling can be set into hair in less than 30 minutes and may be routinely changed.
