Haunted Walking Tours   
Through Nov. 3; 6 p.m.
The two-and-a-half hour walking tour takes participants to haunted buildings in one of Orange County’s most haunted cities – Fullerton. Locations to be visited include Plummer Auditorium, the California Hotel, the home of the city’s first female auto dealer, and the Fullerton Police Department. The tour is not recommended for children under 13. Pre-paid reservations are required. Admission is $15 for museum members and $18 for the general public. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Knott’s Scary Farm's Haunt
Sept. 23-25, Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 5-9, 12-16, 19-23, 26-31; 7 p.m.

Haunt is returning with 13 mazes, seven live shows and four scare zones for yet another frightening Halloween season. Three new mazes (Delirium, End Games and Invasion Beneath) will be joining the group of old favorites. Haunt is not recommended for children under the age of 13. The Empty Grave
Sept. 30-Oct. 31; 7 p.m.

Knott’s Berry Farm's Snoopy’s Costume Party
Weekends from Oct. 1-31; 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Knott’s Berry Farm offers child-friendly Halloween activities throughout the day for its younger visitors. Shows, activities and trick-or-treating will be available to children (who are encouraged to come to the theme park wearing a costume of their choice). Ticket prices vary. Spooky Science: Bug Invasion II
October 1-31; 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Live bug displays, interactive learning stations and an interactive Bug Invasion scavenger hunt will be available every day through the month of October at the Discovery Science Center. On weekends visitors will be able to decorate pumpkins, participate in a costume parade and touch real bugs. Admission is $17.95 for adults and $12.95 for children. Discovery Science Center, 2500 N. Dia de los Muertos Festival
Oct. 16; 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Museum of Latin American Art will be offering a day of free admission in honor and recognition of Dia de los Muertos. The festival offers activities for people of all ages: art workshops, live performances, food and gallery tours. The goal is to instill knowledge of the Latin American culture in every visitor. Haunted Trails
Oct. 27-29; hours vary daily

For three nights horror and terror will fill the trails of Laguna Niguel's Crown Valley Community Park. Groups will be guided through scary and elaborate scenes (such as mazes, tents and a graveyard) as they make their way through the park. According to the event’s flier, there will be “no refunds for scaredy cats.” Admission is $10. It is not recommended for children under the age of eight. Treats in the Streets
Oct. 27; 4-7 p.m.

This family-oriented festival will include trick-or-treating, a costume parade, games, food, and entertainment for all. It’s a great opportunity for the entire family to dress up and celebrate Halloween in Old Towne Orange. Old Towne Orange Plaza, Orange

Haunted Garden at the Arboretum
Oct. 28-29; 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Tour guides lead participants to a Haunter’s Ball through the dark and chilly Arboretum in this fear-inducing event. The ball will include games and activities for those brave enough to make it through the garden to the other side. Admission is $12 for the general public and $8 for children under 12. Pre-paid ticket pricing is available. Children five and under are encouraged to visit on the afternoon of Oct. 29 for a costume parade, pumpkin patch tours, crafts and games at a themed kids party. Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade
Oct. 29; 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Join Anaheim as it celebrates its 75th fall festival with live entertainment, game and food booths, a pumpkin patch, as well as a children’s costume contest at 11 a.m. and a Halloween parade at 6 p.m. Admission and parking for the event are free. Halloween Zoo-tacular!
Oct. 29; 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Witness the animals celebrate Halloween as they receive their very own treat-filled pumpkins at the zoo. Face painting, a scavenger hunt, crafts, and trick-or-treating will also take place at the celebration for children 12 and under. The first 100 children in costume will receive a free gift. Halloween Fest on Main Street
Oct. 31; 4-8 p.m.

The Downtown Business Improvement District aims to celebrate Halloween with children of all ages in Downtown Huntington Beach by hosting a festival. An inflatable slide and rock wall, games, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, a haunted mansion, costume contest, and trick-or-treating will be a part of the festivities. Admission is free. Trick or Treat at Talega Village Center & The District at Tustin Legacy
Oct. 31; 6-8 p.m.

Residents of San Clemente can visit the Talega Village Center, while those near Tustin can visit The District at Tustin Legacy on Halloween to enjoy face painting, balloon art, treats, and trick or treating. The first 500 kids at either location will receive special Halloween goody bags. Admission is free. Noche de Altares
Nov. 5; 1-10 p.m.

The ninth annual Noche de Altares (Night of Altars) is one of Orange County’s largest Dia de los Muertos celebrations. Held in Downtown Santa Ana, the event is free to the public. The family-friendly event aims to bring the community together through art and culture and offers participants the opportunity to build and dedicate an altar to someone that has passed away.
