I’m not the most adventurous person when it comes to changing my look – except for that time when I went from brunette to total blonde, but that’s another story. Most of the time I prefer changes I can make in my makeup routine, since I know it’ll usually – hopefully – wash off. I probably have some of the most fun when it comes to my lips. Here are some fun lip colors and effective lip moisturizers that I’ve recently come across:
Marina Cosmetics’ Sea Perfected Lipstick, Beach Berry: Made up of sea plant and other nourishing ingredients including golden seaweed, sea kelp and jojoba oil, this burgundy shade has a nice hydrating shine and stays on. $20 at Beauty 360, Mission Viejo
Guerlain’s Rouge G de Guerlain, Giuliana: Love the metal case containing lipstick mirror; and the burnt orange shade has reddish undertones for a more sophisticated look. $45 at Saks Fifth Avenue, South Coast Plaza
Chantecaille’s Lip Sheer, Rose Coral: A pleasant medium-shade pink lip color that adds interest to the lips without overpowering the face. $28 at Saks Fifth Avenue, South Coast Plaza
MAC’s Style Warrior Lipglass, Fierce & Fabulous and Liberated: Fierce & Fabulous, a sparkly light purple gloss with pink undertones, offers both shine and nice color for some added pop. Liberated, on the other hand, is a clearer gloss with a very tiny hint of goldish yellow – a great balance to brighter, more colorfully done eyes. $14 at MAC, South Coast Plaza
Bioelements’ Instant Emollient: It looks like white lipstick but provides moisture rather than color – love it. $26 at New Image Newport, Newport Beach and spalook.com
