Family and friends by the fireplace. Gifts and good cheer. A $1.5 million private plane.

For nearly a century, iconic luxury retailer Neiman Marcus has been upping the opulence of the holiday season with its annualChristmas Book. It’s a collection of “spectacular and unique” gifts meant to delight the hardest-to-impress on your holiday list. Past stocking stuffers have included hot air balloons, windmills, a pair of life-size robots, and a $20 million submarine. There have also been oddities like mummy cases (mummies included!); ostriches; and something called a B.O.B., or “breathing observation bubble” (basically, an underwater scooter).

Or, for a similar level of exclusivity but with a bit less “what the heck…?” factor, you could go for the catalog’s limited edition automobile. Since 1995, theChristmas Bookhas featured a unique take on a coveted car. Examples have ranged from sleek sedans like the Jaguar XJL and BMW 7 Series; to American muscle like a 700-hp Ford Mustang; to exotics like a McLaren 12C Spider and Ferrari FF. They all go really fast – literally. Several years ago, 50 Neiman Marcus BMW M6 convertibles sold out in 92 seconds!

This year, Neiman Marcus selected the handsome Infiniti Q60 coupe. Compared to past Christmas cars like a $350,000 Aston Martin convertible, the $63,000 Infiniti seems more down to earth. However, its paint job is anything but: a sparkling gold leaf called Solar Mica. Carbon fiber mirror housings, rear spoiler, and side vents provide touches of sporty exterior styling and a nice contrast with the elegant white leather and brushed aluminum interior. Other exclusive touches include a white leather weekender bag, and a Neiman Marcus branded car cover.

Beneath the glittery skin and nifty duffel bag, the Neiman Marcus Infiniti is essentially a top-spec Q60 Red Sport 400 – a stylish and potent contender in a category that includes the BMW 4 Series, Audi A5, and Lexus RC. The 400 in the Q60 Red Sport’s name signifies the number of ponies sent to the rear rubber by its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. Infiniti has always been known for its technical prowess, and the Q60 continues that tradition with, among other things, a highly customizable adaptive steering system that lets you dial in the desirable ratios for precision feel. It allows the Q60 to go from comfy grand tourer on long, straight hauls to a more responsive sport coupe on the twisties.

There will only be 50 examples of the Infiniti Q60 Neiman Marcus Limited Edition. They went on sale in early November, so if yours isn’t already reserved, you probably missed out. Too bad, since this stunning coupe would look mighty fine next to a rose gold $1.5 million Cobalt Valkyrie-X private plane you can take to your $700,000 week-long getaway at three different English estates. Those particular “fantasy gifts” can be found on pages 134 and 124, respectively, of this year’s Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. ‘Tis the season!
