Serious mixologists may sneer at the thought of a premade cocktail mixer. But when the cold-pressed juice connoisseurs at Nékter Juice Bar created its line of low-calorie mixers longing for a boozy finish, several bar hounds took notice. One skeptical taster was SOL Cocina’s beverage director Colin Pflugradt.

Then Pflugradt sipped Nékter’s Arizona Sunset. It was unlike other commercial brands – surprisingly refreshing without an artificial, overly sweet finish.

Arizona Sunset is a mix of orange, grapefruit and blood orange cold-pressed juices balanced with pressed peaches and lightly sweetened with agave nectar. Soon after Pflugradt tried the mixer, inspiration struck. He created the SOL Sunset, a cocktail that blends SOL Cocina’s love of fresh ingredients with Nékter’s signature farm-fresh flavors. The only hitch: This drink is seasonal. When summer ends, the good citrus will be harder to come by, which is why it’s available only through August.

4 oz of Arizona Sunset Mixer
