Face Time

My nose peels. It happens when the weather is cold or dry, and it's very annoying. My regular facial moisturizers help, but I think I need something stronger.

Like La Mer's The Hydrating Facial two-zoned mask ($250 for 6 applications) or the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask ($85 for a box of six masks and $120 for a box of 10). The Hydrating Facial uses a blend of dark green algae, melon and avocado extracts, and a cotton mask embedded with tourmaline gem – which is supposed to help energize face molecules – for anti-aging and super hydration.

The mask is applied in two parts: upper zone and lower zone. After cleansing your skin, you start with the upper part then apply the lower part so the two overlap at the cheekbones. After eight minutes, you remove the mask and pat the rest of the thick moisturizer over your face and neck. The treatment left my own face looking incredibly moisturized and glowing.

The SK-II Facial Treatment Mask is a 100% cotton mask infused with vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids to moisturize dehydrated skin. (Actress Cate Blanchett is the line's global ambassador.)

The mask is applied for 10-15 minutes after cleansing. Massage in any excess into your skin. The result, for me, was an intensely moisturized, soft face.

La Mer's The Hydrating Facial is available at Saks Fifth Avenue in South Coast Plaza and cremedelamer.com; SK-II's Facial Treatment Mask is available at Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's in South Coast Plaza, and sk-ii.com
