“Re-taste your youth. At 40 proof.”

That’s the motto behind the alcohol-infused drink that brings a whole new meaning to the question, “Got Milk?”

Adult Chocolate Milk was originally developed by Newport Beach native Tracy Reinhardt in her own kitchen. After she put her kids to sleep, she felt like having a drink, so she started to play around with different ingredients. She immediately fell in love with a mix of vodka and chocolate milk.

Reinhardt updated her Facebook status to let everyone know she was enjoying her new concoction and it caught the attention of Nikki Halbur, a former classmate at Santa Ana’s Mater Dei High School now residing in Arizona. She had not seen Reinhardt since their high school days in the 1990s but she became instantly intrigued with the idea. Halbur eventually got a chance to taste the drink in person and recognized its potential.

The two decided to market the product, combining Reinhardt’s creation with Halbur’s management experience. After a long process finding a company to recreate the drink – using a unique formulation including a number of different liqueurs and vodka – in large scale, the Adult Beverage Co. was born.
 
Still not sold on Adult Chocolate Milk? It was tested at high profile events such as an NFL Players Association Super Bowl party and the VH1 SOS Haiti Telethon before hitting store shelves. It is also being endorsed by multi-platinum R&B star Ginuwine.

It is available locally at BevMo! stores, Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa and Total Wine & More in Brea and Tustin; and nationally in 2011. A one-liter size bottle costs around $23 and the 750-ml size is about $18.

If chocolate milk is not really your taste, Adult Beverage Co. will soon be releasing more products, including Adult Orange Cream, Adult Fruit Punch and Adult Limeade.
