Little Bit of Hollywood

Orange County has hosted some notable movie shoots over the last few decades.

The Endless Summer // 1966: Capistrano Beach, Dana Point. Various non-surfing shots, as well as the iconic beach image on the poster were captured here.

Since the silent era, Hollywood has traveled to Orange County dozens of times for locations less familiar to moviegoers than the overly used Los Angeles area. For example, the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana remains a regular filming location, and Newport Harbor was where the Minnow sailed from at the beginning of each episode of “Gilligan’s Island.” Here are some of the more notable local filming locations of the last few decades.
