Doheny State Beach and music festival means nothing but the blues, right? Wrong, starting this summer. Ohana Dana Point is a new two-day beachside fest featuring headliners Eddie Vedder, Elvis Costello and Lana Del Rey. It happens August 27 and 28 at Doheny, with a portion of the proceeds going toward the San Onofre Parks Foundation, a nonprofit that works with the state to preserve California’s coastal parks. The Ohana Luau, a pre-festival dinner event and fundraising auction with Vedder, John Doe and surfer Kelly Slater and hosted by comedian Jeff Ross, is August 26 at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel. The Ohana festival lineup on Saturday includes Vedder, Costello, X and many others to fill out the day. Sunday offers Del Ray, Corinne Bailey Rae and more. Tickets are $99.50 for one day of music or $195 for both days. The limited $499-a-day VIP tickets offer expedited festival entry, a swag bag and access to the Ohana VIP Lounge, which will include a hosted bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a live stream of the music stage, lounge seating with shaded areas, cabanas and private restrooms.
