Cadillac and Buick owners along the coast have long been familiar with Nabers Cadillac/Buick, long an institution on Costa Mesa’s automobile row along Harbor Boulevard.

But with the sale of the dealership by the Nabers family, the dealership first became known as South Coast Cadillac/Buick – and now that dealership was sold to giant Suburban Collection, Troy, Michigan. Suburban has re-named the dealership Orange Coast Buick, GMC, Cadillac and has big plans for expansion.

The new owner purchased the 3.7-acre site on the northeast corner of Harbor Boulevard and Merrimac Way directly across Merrimac from its home base. The site, formerly owned by the long-closed Costa Mesa Lincoln Mercury, had been previously acquired by Waterpointe Homes which planned a 33-home residential in-fill community.

Suburban paid Waterpointe $6.5 million for the site and combining its now two sites plans to create a higher profile Cadillac/Buick dealership along the lines of Fletcher Jones Mercedes and Newport Lexus, both in Newport Beach.
