The Old Glory boat parade, put on by the Newport Beach American Legion Yacht Club of Post 291, celebrated July 4 all around Newport Harbor. Flag draped boats of all sizes and shapes cruised the harbor to the delight of revelers on the beaches and on boats moored in the harbor. Grand Marshall Gary Crisp presided over the event which took place on a picture perfect Newport day. The Orange County Sheriff Harbor Patrol Fire boat–with a very active water cannon—led the parade. A contingent of active duty Marines from Camp Pendleton participated on the Grand Marshall’s boat, the Mallika.
