You know that line from Almost Famous that advises if you ever get lonely, just go down to the record store and visit your friends? Well, that’s the OC Music Awards. All the local musicians who provide the soundtrack to everything from your parties and workouts to your break-ups and intense bouts of depression will be there.
The annual awards show honoring Orange County’s local musical artist both old and new, is the perfect opportunity to hobnob with your favorite guitarist and discover your new favorite band. Like, you just know Exene (of L.A. punk band X) will show up with outrageous hair and Joe Escalante (of The Vandals) will be eloquent as ever. Awards will be given in 26 categories, with The Offspring receiving the Orange County Impact Award and Kid Ramos accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award. Tickets are $40.
