With plenty of local Orange County bands like Young the Giant and Foster the People gaining national attention as of late, you really should be looking forward to the 2012 OC Music Awards. This county is a hotbed of hip, original music and now is the perfect time for you to discover some of it. You know, just so you can say you were a huge fan of (Insert Band Name Here) before they sold out.
To get some street cred, drag yourself out to night one of the OC Music Awards Showcase at Detroit Bar, Costa Mesa. The series of free showcases will take place at different local music venues each week as artists and musicians compete for titles of Best Live Band and Best Live Acoustic, and a performance slot at the 2012 OC Music Awards ceremony on March 3 at the City National Grove of Anaheim.
