There is a moment only the best equestrians know. Human and horse fuse into one mighty being. Tremendous power builds and launches forward. No one has known more moments like this than 63-year-old Susan Hutchison, who in June was inducted into the national Show Jumping Hall of Fame. The Southern California native has won more hunter/jumper competitions at San Juan Capistrano’s Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park and The Oaks than any other rider. Here she is astride Brisbane, her piercing blue eyes looking for yet another win. Says Hutchison: “It’s one sport where the older you get, sometimes the better you get.”
