If it’s summer, it must be festival time in Laguna Beach. The theme for this year’s main event, the Pageant of the Masters, is “Partners,” an inventive study of collaborations that led to the creation of works of art. Think husbands and wives, artists and models, painters and their patrons. The Laguna mainstay since the 1930s famously features living creations of masterworks, showcased with music and narration, running summer-long at the Irvine Bowl. On the adjacent grounds, the 84th annual Festival of Arts runs nearly two months, combining a daily art show with nightly music, plus one-off events. Art lovers and craft collectors will find even more across the street at the Sawdust Art & Craft Festival and Laguna Art-A-Fair, both in their 50th year.
