This spring, the World Pet Association’s annual America’s Family Pet Expo celebrates 25 years of furry companions, exotic creatures, animal care, adoptions, education, and everything in between. Returning to the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, the exciting three-day event, starting Friday, April 25 and running through Sunday, April 27, is sure to entertain and educate visitors of all ages.

From pony rides to wiener dog races, snakes to sharks, back-flipping dogs to pedigreed cats, visitors to this year’s Pet Expo have the opportunity to experience all that nature’s creatures have to offer.

At the Repticon’s Reptile Show and Sale, you can channel your inner daredevil by holding a snake or a tarantula with your bare hands, or simply witness the unique wonders of the bearded dragon or the toad you once read about in a fairytale.

A few feet away, Orange Coast College’s Touch Tank allows you to familiarize yourself with the ocean’s rare saltwater creatures. At this station, you can reach in and delve into the world of sharks, starfish and other saltwater critters that live along our coast.

If you’re more curious about the flying types, enter into Las Vegas-based Birds N Beasts’ Bird Show and meet the distinguished Joe Krathwohl, better known as “The Birdman” as he educates about birds and how to train them in this interactive show.

For young children, Seachem Laboratories and United Pet Group will sponsor the Kid’s Aquarium Contest, where kids will get the chance to not only decorate and design their own 10-gallon aquarium in front of a panel, but also take their aquarium home with them after they’ve finished. The goal of this educational program is to focus on the core values of creativity, responsibility, environment, and self-esteem.

Additionally, if you are a first-time pet owner or have the desire to become one, the Pet Expo will provide extensive insight on pet care and adoption through various exhibits and demonstrations. With the Adoption Dog Makeover Crew, you can learn the rights and wrongs of bathing and grooming your beloved pet.

With outstanding attendance in previous years, this year’s Pet Expo hopes to fulfill your curiosity and exceed expectations.
