Dust off your leg warmers and tease up your hair, Orange County is heading back to the 1980s on Saturday, May 4 with DJ Richard Blade.
The radio and television personality will be in Newport Beach for Temple Bat Yahm Preschool’s 30th Anniversary celebration – “80s to the Max” – which is expected to draw hundreds of attendees from across the county. The benefit is open to the public.
The 6:30 p.m. event, taking place at TBY, includes gourmet food, music, dancing, videos, open bar, and an exciting silent auction. Tickets are $60 per person. All proceeds will fund a floor-to-ceiling renovation of the award-winning school.
“Our school is committed to offering the finest early childhood education in Orange County, in a modern, state-of-the-art facility that children can enjoy for the next 30 years,” says Karen Albert, the school’s director.
The nationally-accredited school, which serves children ages three months to five-and-a-half years old, has invited the school’s alumni, teachers and community to share in the fun.
“We expect a sold-out crowd,” says Diane Halvorsen, mother of two and event co-chair. “It’s going to be a big celebration with great music and dancing. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to pull out your crazy Flashdance clothes, big hair and relive your high school days.”
Halvorsen says the event will feature a wide array of gourmet food generously donated by local businesses: Surfas Culinary District, Pita Jungle, Mozambique, Whole Foods Newport Beach, and Melting Pot.
In addition, there will be fine wines, a photo booth and exclusive silent auction – including an overnight stay in a luxury bungalow at The Resort at Pelican Hill.
