The devil goes by many names: Satan, Lucifer, Hades… so it’s no surprise he has many faces too.  After the success of 2004’s 100 Artists See Satan, The Grand Central Art Center is reviving the exhibition as a fundraiser.

One hundred contemporary artists will showcase their interpretation of the prince of darkness himself, with all works available for sale. The original exhibit was created in response to a New York art show titled 100 Artists See God, curated by John Baldessari and Meg Cranston for Independent Curators Inc. The two shows ran at the same time, creating an artistic dueling of good and evil on the West Coast and East Coast.

Besides the original works on display, the GCAC bookstore will also be selling Satan Credit Card, limited edition 666 designed by Grammy Award-winning graphic and packaging designer Hugh Brown, for $50. The show runs from June 26 through August 15 with an exclusive preview held June 26 from 6-7 p.m. followed by a reception open to the public from 7-10 p.m. If you can’t make it opening night, a second reception is being held July 10 from 7-10 p.m., the same evening as Santa Ana’s First Saturday Art Walk.
