A picturesque summer evening set the scene for a celebration of South Coast Repertory’s gala patrons, hosted by SCR Emeritus Trustee Tod White and his wife, Linda at their bayside home. “Since Tod joined the board, we’ve enjoyed every minute of SCR, and especially love the gala festivities,” Linda said.
The patron event happens every year in advance of the theater company’s annual gala and honors major donors as SCR’s new season approaches.
Guests greeted the hosts, then strolled through the home, many admiring the White’s art collection, plus an elaborate display of seasonal fruits and vegetables in the dining room and desserts on the kitchen island.
But the place to be was on the lawn overlooking Newport’s bay, sipping cocktails and listening to singer Mike O’Bryan.
“Making our gala the most theatrically fun event of the season – that’s always our goal,” said gala chair Socorro Vasquez.
South Coast Rep managing director Paula Tomei spoke about the importance of gala patrons in SCR’s success, noting that proceeds from the fall event support SCR’s award-winning educational programs.
