In order to achieve smooth and flawless skin celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alicia Keys have flocked to dermatologist Zein Obagi, M.D., the man in charge of the Obagi Skin Health Institute headquartered in Beverly Hills.

The “Obagi experience” required a trip to Beverly Hills, Laguna Beach or San Gabriel to visit one of his institutes. But as of last week, there’s now another option.

ZO Skin Centre Flagship has opened in Fashion Island, co-owned by Obagi and Newport Beach plastic surgeon Aaron Kosins, M.D., offering both sought-after products and education for clients on how to obtain and maintain healthy skin.

Obagi and Kosins, long-term residents of Orange County, have teamed up to create a modern and sleek center, with silver and royal blue accents woven through the walls and shelves of ZO products. Surrounding glass windows entice customers with displays of ZO products positioned throughout the facility, which is located in the Atrium Court on the concierge level by Blushington and Drybar salon.

“By opening our first ZO Skin Centre in a high-profile, highly prestigious shopping mall, we will fulfill our mission to advance the science of skin health to a broader base of consumers, and we will continue to strengthen the bond between the customer and the physician,” Kosins said.

This center differs from the doctors’ other facilities in that clients can see the specialists together rather than making separate trips, all in a convenient location where they are already spending time – the mall.

‘As a plastic surgeon I bring a very complimentary perspective to Dr. Obagi’s dermatology practice,” said Kosins. “We would like nothing better than to leverage ZO Skin Centre as a platform to educate and train the public on the science of skin health and, in doing so, help to protect the health of our clients and patients by providing treatments, procedures and products to enhance natural exfoliation to strengthen and repair the barrier function of the skin.”

Obagi’s ownpreternaturally smooth skin shows evidence of his expertise. Obagi says he isconvinced that every individual-regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, skin type and current skin condition-is capable of achieving and enjoying skin health.

Clients can come in for a 45-minute MD skin evaluation with Obagi or Kosins and receive an assessment of their skin conditions. During these evaluations, pictures are taken and then taken again at a follow-up evaluation, in order to document and track how the treatment is going.

A menu of treatments is available to address acne, anti-aging, melasma, sun damage, rosacea, wrinkles, skin laxity, and volume loss. Clients can schedule from a broad menu of treatments, from facials, full body peels and hand treatments, ranging in price from $75-$350, with the Oraser hand treatment at the lower end of the price range and the ZO ultimate regeneration facial at the highest. Peels can be added on for $75.

A new sunscreen line is also being added to the ZO Skin care products in time for summer.
