2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Fights were abundant.
LAWRENCE SHERWIN

Round one of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs featured the Anaheim Ducks against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday, April 16. In game one, the Ducks roared out to a 4-0 lead. Costly penalties and defensive lapses let Dallas back into the game but the Ducks hung on to win 4-3. With about a minute left to play, Ryan Getzlaf was hit in the face with a puck. There were concerns about his ability to continue play. However, the captain came back in game two on Friday, April 18 to help lead the Ducks to a 3-2 victory with an assist and an unassisted goal. Corey Perry also had an unassisted game-winning goal. Duck's goalie Frederik Andersen stopped the Stars in their tracks with his terrific play. The Ducks head to Dallas with a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Follow the Ducks at ducks.nhl.com.
