Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill at South Coast Plaza (714-979-7469) celebrates its fifth annual Chile Fest from September 2 through September 21. Patterned after the famous Chile Festival in Hatch, New Mexico, a special menu will be created by Executive Chef Danny Stevens, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis. During the three-week celebration, there will be cooking demonstrations at William-Sonoma, along with a contest to find the most “decadent dessert” using chili peppers as an ingredient. Beginning September 21 through September 27, Fleming’s at Fashion Island (949-720-9633) celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special “Once in a Decade Dinners.” The sumptuous three-course, prix-fixe menu priced at $35, includes a wedge of iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing, a choice of filet mignon, Alaskan halibut or almond-crusted shrimp as an entree, and a mixed berry cobbler for dessert. On September 11, as part of its Summer Wine Dinner Series, The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel (949-240-2000) will present the outstanding wines of Craggy Range Vineyards paired with a spectacular six-course dinner especially created by Executive Chef Rob Wilson. The reception, beginning at 7 p.m. with dinner following at 7:30 p.m., is presented alfresco on the Sunset Terrace. Cost is $175 per person.

Paul Gstrein, the highly revered chef at Bayside Restaurant (949-721-1222), is now manning the burners at its sister restaurant, Kimera (949-261-1222.) Gstrein, in his inimitable style, has created an exciting new menu.

Philanthropist Bruno Serato, also owner of the White House Restaurant in Anaheim, has been inducted into the prestigious Anaheim Walk of Fame. Previous inductees include Walt Disney, Gene Autry and Carl Karcher, to name a few. The Walk is on Harbor Boulevard, near the main entrance to Disneyland.
