Surf City Pet Massage
Think we humans are the only ones who benefit from a relaxing massage? Think again!
Located in Huntington Beach, Surf City Pet Massage is passionate about offering massage services to both pet and pet owner at affordable rates. If you find it a little decadent and unnecessary for your pet to get a massage, consider this: Massage can increase circulation and muscle tone, reduce anxiety, promote healing, accelerate recovery from exercise and injury, and more.
“I work on injured animals, dogs with anxiety and elderly dogs a lot," says Kerri-Lynn DeHart, a nationally certified and California-licensed massage therapist, certified canine massage therapist and owner of Surf City Pet Massage.
In addition to running her human and pet massage business, a great deal of her work is with animal shelters and nonprofit organizations that help dogs into a healthier life.
“The philanthropy aspect is what really makes me happy," she says. "I love animals more than anything. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for them.”
Her pet services include a 45-minute massage aimed to stretch muscles and release any tension, starting at $45. For humans, she offers a variety of one-hour massages, ranging from deep tissue to Swedish to hot stone deep massage and more. The standard one-hour massage therapy using deep tissue techniques or relaxing Swedish is priced at $55, but if you purchase a pet massage too, you pay a discounted $80 total.
Besides being a pet philanthropist, DeHart is an artist who is being featured along with 19 other artists at the Warehouse of Contemporary Art’s (WOCA) Ten Years of Art celebration in Anaheim, running through April 13.
