Art shows can be pretty inspiring but multimedia art shows can be downright life changing. That’s why independent art organization, RAW, has put together a series of grassroots artists showcases that are making the rounds in Southern California in summer 2010.
But rather than just showcase the traditional mediums of art, film and photography, RAW also incorporates the creative mediums of fashion, hair, makeup, music, djing, modeling, and performance art. The result is a bona fide circus of creativity and on August 19, the circus comes to Orange County.
The Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach will host RAW’s latest event called The Hunger, an evening packed with inspiration for all the senses. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with art from Francisco Gutierrez, Devan Bowers, Ethan Edwards, Tomas Cruz, Kimberly Miklos, and many more on display all evening. At 9:15 p.m. musical performances from singer-songwriter Carly Layne, who has been showcased at the Orange County Music Awards and music from DJ Martin Vidal begin, followed by performance art at 9:45 p.m.
A fashion show spotlighting Humming Bird Designs and ensembles by Cassandra Delvey begins at 10:15 p.m. with an after-party to follow. Many of the artists and musicians featured are Orange County locals and you can be inspired just by the fact that these talents walk among us.
