Horse stables will be included as part of a new development planned for San Juan Capistrano.
The 150-acre project involves two parcels of land along the San Diego Freeway (I-5) just over a mile south of Ortega Highway.
The first parcel is a 15-acre site adjacent to the freeway and next to the San Juan Hills Golf Club. Plans by Lake Forest-headquartered Advanced Real Estate Services call for a mixed-use complex with shops, offices and 140 condominium and apartment units.
On the second parcel, 135 acres farther up into the hills, Advanced Real Estate plans 105 single family homes and an equestrian center for 950 horses.
The land for these projects was acquired in 1999 and 2004 and construction could start as early as mid-2009.
