Two new developers have been signed by Tustin Legacy, the city of Tustin’s commercial portion of the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station (Helicopters). The two new developers will add 400,000 square feet of commercial space to Tustin Legacy, which already has single-family residential with more to come. The Irvine Company has previously been selected to develop apartment units.
R.D. Olson Development, a prolific Orange County hotel developer, will produce the $60 million Tustin Legacy Center, two four-story hotels totaling 294 rooms and a retail center on an 8.4-acre site near Edinger Avenue and the 55 Freeway. Included will be a 149-room Residence Inn by Marriott and a 145-room Fairfield Suites by Marriott.
Developer Regency Centers will create a 185,000-square-foot grocery-anchored retail center with space for medical offices.
