If you were to think of the biggest names in the film industry, surely Disney, Universal Studios, Lucasfilm, and Steven Spielberg would quickly come to mind. So what exactly do these pop culture icons and top-notch companies have in common? Two words: William Stout.

William Stout is an artist with his own very unique style. Once you glimpse one of his works, you'll be sure to recognize the others. And March 11, 2010 is your last chance to get a glimpse of the artist at the Laguna College of Art + Design's Ettinger Gallery.

Stout has created everything from comics and movie posters to Jurassic landscapes. Stout's works embrace a balance of fantasy and clever animation that not only serve as works of art, but also contribute to the silver screen. In fact, Michael Crichton's famed Jurassic Park concept was inspired by Stout's sci-fi/fantasy style. Stout has lent his artistic talent in a slew of movies, including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Men in Black and The Prestige, winning two Academy Awards for his contributions to Pan's Labyrinth.

The William Stout art gallery show is on display until March 11, ending at 5 p.m. Parking and admission are free for this gallery event, courtesy of the artist.
