UCI biological sciences professor Francisco Ayala stands near the entrance to the science library named in his honor in 2010 in recognition of the world-renowned biologist's scientific achievements. Ayala donated 10 million to UCI's School of Biological Sciences, the largest gift ever from a faculty member.
