Talk about philanthropy with style! At its Holiday Luncheon and Fashion Show, Friends of CASA, the auxiliary of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County, netted $476,916 to help children who have been caught in the foster care system.

Held Dec. 11 at The Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, the event broke its fundraising record for the sixth straight year. Luncheon chairs Jennifer Gonzales Oxen, Sandi Marino and Debbie Masek were assisted by a team of 85 members from the Friends of CASA, led by Lori Jackson, the auxiliary’s president.

This year’s fashion show was presented by Kate Spade New York and South Coast Plaza and produced by Deborah Keillor. Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez served as the host, greeting guests at the start of the program with CASA CEO Regan Phillips before walking the runway with his 2-year-old son. Kate Spade New York premiered 24 looks from their Summer 2020 collection for the 546 guests in attendance.

CASA volunteer Sarah Randall delivered a touching keynote address and reminded everyone of the day’s real purpose by telling her story of being a CASA and working with kids in the foster care system.

“Our children in foster care just need one person who supports them and sees them for the unique individual they are,” she told the audience.
